~ A Homegrown Lettuce for One Word Sunday ~

An easy choice from Debbie at Travel with Intent this week, the word is Green.

A magnificent lettuce from my brother’s garden in Essex. Although he was fairly miffed when I picked it for salad at dinner. Apparently there is a certain way to do this for regrowth. I hope it did grow again.

~ Morning Coffee and a Rainbow ~

I sat outside yesterday morning with my coffee, enjoying the early morning cool weather. I looked up at the sky and wondered if the rain was coming or going. All of a sudden through the haze a rainbow appeared. As I sat in silent wonder, it seemed to become brighter. A lovely treat for a Saturday morning I thought.

~ Square Squares ~

Debbie from Travel with Intent hosts One Word Sunday, and as you’ve probably guessed the theme is square this week.

A small gallery of squares, all squared away.

“Being a square keeps you from going around in circles.”

~ A View Through a Web ~

I was at the park the other day with my granddaughter and this view caught my eye. I like a photo to be naturally framed.

This was taken with my Samsung S22, I didn’t edit it but did use Ribbett to frame the frame – so to speak. I like the sectioned views of the Perth Skyline.

Perfect for John’s Cellpic Sunday and Debbie’s One Word Sunday – View.

A Winter’s Afternoon in Fremantle

We spent a few hours in Fremantle today to enjoy the winter sun. Sitting in a beachfront pub enjoying a drink and watching some children playing in the waves. The sun was shining but the temperature was only 14 degrees! Kids can’t resist the sea and they were all fully clothed, jackets, jumpers and trousers, we watched them squelch past us later dripping wet. They had a blast though.

I took some photos for Debbie’s One Word Sunday – Straight.

Painted planks of wood

The straight trunks of Norfolk Pines

It’s the end of winter next week, I’m looking forward to Spring and warmer days.

Peeping Moon

This is my photo for One Word Sunday hosted by Debbie at Travel With Intent

I could just about capture this in my garden the other night. Just peeping through the branches.

Disconnect to Reconnect

Wise words in today’s busy world when everyone is connected to some type of device. For One Word Sunday Debbie has chosen the word Rest.

The photos below are from a few years back when we were in Hoi An, Vietnam.

I’ve never been in a rickshaw as I’ve always felt sorry for the “driver’s” legs. This man has probably earned a good rest after pulling tourists around all day.

These beach workers are taking a break during a quiet time. Look how close the beds are, we met quite a few people lying next to us! You can’t but help overhear the conversations. I don’t think anyone would like to lie so closely together in future.

All Alone

This week the word for One Word Sunday is reflection. I took a photo of this very lonely heron in Hobart, Tasmania.

Perhaps he didn’t think he was quite alone

🐟 Ponder 🐟

This week for one word Sunday, Debbie at Travel with Intent has chosen “Pond or Ponder”. I’ve found a few with quotes to go with my photos. Stay a while and ponder.

It is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a mighty ocean

Our little fish pond, built in 2012. Different fish and some more plants, but still going strong. DH’s (Dear Hubby) hobby.

“I have found it a singular luxury to talk across the pond to a companion on the opposite side”
~ Henry David Thoreau ~

A Koi Pond in Sengan-En Gardens, Kagoshima, Japan

“Remain in the world, act in the world, do whatsoever is needful, and yet remain transcendental, aloof, detached, a lotus flower in the pond.”
― Osho, The Secret of Secrets

It’s the smallest fish in the pond that has the most room to swim – or the smallest cow!
