It really has been a bit of this and that last week. We are now two home opens down and still no takers. The market has slowed down so we have been told. As the old saying goes “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”. I am very much enjoying the less cluttered space we have now and am getting used to the routine every Saturday morning.
Having decided not to cook on a Friday we have been making the most of going out to eat. We had a lovely dinner at a beachside restaurant overlooking the sea and in time to watch the sunset. My daughter and the munchkins came too. My 8yr old grandson went into fits of laughter after he handed me the seniors menu!
Last week it was just us, a romantic dinner for two at the golf club.
The weather last weekend was atrocious, not a good day for our home open. I sat in the car for a while scrolling away and looked up and saw this.

I joined a few friends for a quiz night at a local pub, our group was the oldest by a few decades. Although I was able to answer quite a few questions. I also managed to go to two zumba classes now that I have spare time. I made a cake and slow cooked a pork shoulder for pulled pork tacos. Treated myself to a mani and pedi.
A friend mentioned to me that she had a fantastic photo scanner, which scanned 40 photos at a time. So I went a bit mad and ordered one online. What a gamechanger! I have managed to scan and organise so many photos that have been lying around for decades in boxes. Just the sort of project I enjoy.
As my two boys were very unhappy about not being able to sleep on the couches anymore I bought them two new cozy beds.
We are lucky to see different kinds of birds fly through the garden, sometimes staying for a visit. Unless I sit out there camouflaging myself it’s hard to snap them. I normally stand behind a curtain and peep out.
This week I spotted two wood ducks and several rainbow lorikeet, disguising themselves amongst the lilipili.
I hope you all had a fabulous week too and found something to feel blessed and happy about.

A lovely week Ali. Seniors menu, the cheek 😂 It must be frustrating to have open house and no offers. Has the agent offered any reasons other than down turn in the market?
Wow 40 photos, that is fabulous. Bet it costs a bit
Our house needs a new kitchen and bathrooms but the price reflects this. The market is just slow I think. Yes the scanner was quite expensive but so worth it. I was never going to get through that many photos one at a time
They are an expense in renovations and as you say reflect in the market price. The media is talking house prices down. I hope you don’t have to drop your price. Have you found somewhere else to live?
No we haven’t yet, I’ve seen a few places online but I want to be in a position first to know what my budget is
Who knows we may end up staying for longer
It’s good to look and get an idea of what areas are affordable. Have you seen the English show Secret Agent? He advises people on what they could do to sell their houses. Some people have had their houses on the market for almost a year or more and no offers.
Some of the make over ideas are good and not expensive as long as they do the work like painting and landscaping.
Your boys are still looking a wee bit resentful even in their new beds.
Haha I did think that Sheree, they never smile when the camera is focused on them
Okay
I’m sorry you haven’t had any takers for the house yet, but apart from than things seem to be going pretty well for you. And that’s a fabulous rainbow!
Thanks Sarah, we’re kind of in limbo but nice to relax and stop all the decluttering!!
Sorry you are in limbo with no takers, but unfortunately markets can be in the doldrums at times…tok me over a year to shift my last place…stuff happens
Thanks for your comments .. you didn’t leave a name 😁
That rainbow picture is so lovely! here’s hoping it’s a sign for brighter days ahead 🙂
Thanks Meg, I did make a wish!
What a wonderful collection of small pleasures! I hope the dogs are enjoying their new beds.
Thanks Barbara, they are loving them
What an amazing week except for the “no takers” thing. That’s what i heard too, the market is very unstable these days…Hope you’ll get buyers soon.
Thanks Teresa, can only wait and see
