Changing Seasons is really the correct phrase to describe Perth at the moment. We had a mini heatweave last week, like a summer’s day but it’s Spring and a few days later wind, rain and cold nights again, but another heatwave at the end of the week.
This challenge is hosted by Ju-Lyn and Brian from Bushboy’s World.
The first ten days of September I was still in the UK, where they also had a late summer heatwave. The trouble there is you can’t sleep at night as there was no breeze at all! Just can’t be happy can we? I spent those days going to visit my mum in the care home and catching up with old friends and family members.
My mum was so sad to see me go, it was heartbreaking for me. She had forgotten that it was time to say goodbye. She has made a new friend though.
I also had a quick visit back to my childhood home to clear out some more “stuff” with my brother. It will be odd not staying here again.
I popped outside to take a few photos of the garden and saw this cheeky fox, which is undoubtedly the fox I have taken many photos of before. Peeping through the fence (which ties in with Sunday Stills – Fences).
Soon after I returned to Perth we had a visit from Laurence and Maddy, which I’ve already posted about. That was a wonderful week. Rosie also turned 3!
It was also half term here in Perth and I was on duty with “Ninny Daycare” for the munchkins for two days. Exhausting but loved every minute. We made cookies, went to some parks and a cafe. They are such lovely playmates and Lachie is so patient with Rosie. I remember when my brother and I were a similar age and all we did was fight, it was always my fault though, I was a mean girl! Luckily we get on so much better now, well most of the time anyway. I’ll never lose that bossy streak.
on one cookie!
The Perth Royal Show was on in the last week in September, I didn’t go this year, but I could see the fireworks from my bedroom window.
Not great images but not too bad for a free show!
Lastly for Brian’s last on the card is my attempt at snapping the full moon with my S22.
That was a busy month Alison. The what seems eternal house clear out. It’s different if you find a treasure or two.
That’s not bad for a phone photo of the Moon. Thanks for joining in 🙂 🙂

It’s tough to say goodbye to a childhood home 🤗 To your mother too, but I’m glad she’s made a friend in the care home and you must be pleased too. And lovely photos of the grandchildren!

Thanks Sarah, yes good she’s made a friend but that friend can be a bit funny towards her! She’s quite a feisty one

Gosh, Ali, your September was similar to mine as you visited your mom and childhood home. Great shots of your trip and sorry to read it got hot again–I know your pain (thank goodness for air conditioning in hotels and family homes in the desert). I hope my dad and stepmom can make new friends like your mom has. Social interaction is so important! LOVE your cheeky fox hiding behind the fence!!

Oh ALi, it must have been so hard saying goodbye to your mum, I know that feeling well but as a mother and grandmother with family overseas. Your time with your grandchildren sounds just the tonic, how cute are they?

Thanks for your kind comments Debbie, yes it was upsetting. I tried to see her as much as I could while I was there, so hard to take her out though as she now constantly asks the time, asking if it’s time to get back. They become institutilised very quickly.

Hey Ali! So happy to have you at The Changing Seasons.
As I read about your month, my heart both breaks and soars for you. It must be so challenging to have your mom live across the world. And to have to say goodbye to your childhood home must have been heart-wrenching.
I am so glad you had time with your family & the kiddies back in Perth. Precious time as they grow up too quickly!

I’m sure my siblings feel the same way – but it is what it is. And I am glad to be on site for my folks, as I am sure your brother is.

I am sure you are grateful to be able to see your mum, was hard as it is to leave. And grandchildren sure put life in perspective for us, don’t they? I laughed at the cookie/ smarties photo. Clearly Lachie is unbothered by Rosies opinions. Too cute! Have a good week yourself, Ali.
