A Walk with Rufus on Saturday

I don’t walk often enough but now Spring is here it’s about time I got out a bit more! Trouble is I don’t like walking alone so I’ve started to take Rufus again. My dear hubby takes both dogs every day for two hours, so Rufus had a little treat this morning.

There are still wildflowers in abundance along the path and I also found a raspberry bush, I was tempted to pick a few, maybe I’ll go back! All the footy teams were out for their Saturday matches.

Sadly I had to leave Zac as the two of them together can’t behave

My A to Z Travel Challenge – Quang Nam Province, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Quang Nam Province is where the Unesco World Heritage town of Hoi An is situated. It is a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and French style buildings. Hoi An sits on the banks of the Thu Bon River and there are many waterways around the area.
We have stayed in Hoi An twice before and visited on a number of other occasions while staying in Da Nang. It gets busier with each year and there is hardly any room to move crossing over the little bridge.

The two hotels we stayed in were just outside of the small town, Hoi An Historic Hotel and Hoi An Beach Hotel. Early evening is the best time to go into Hoi An Ancient Town as it’s a bit cooler then, although not much!

The beds are so close, no social distancing here! Crawling from the bottom is the only way to lie on them! No secrets are safe here.

My nightly cocktail – Pina Colada

Hoi An is such a wonderful place to visit but so many places in Vietnam are. It is one of my favourite countries to visit.

My A to Z Travel Challenge: H is for Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam🇻🇳

Hanoi Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, where we spent four days a few years ago.  Hanoi was not a place that interested me as I had heard it was quite industrialised due to the influence of communism.  However it was somewhere where Anthony wanted to visit, and I can’t always have my own way!  After…

All you need is a Passport – Six Word Saturday

At the moment my passport is just gathering dust along with thousands of others I imagine. By the time I get to use it again it may well have expired. So I have dug deep into the archives of my gallery once more and posted a few of times gone by!

From a cruise we took from Singapore back to Perth with a few detours, missed ports, two deaths and long days at sea due to norovirus and pneumonia amongst passengers!

Watching the sun go down from our little balcony
Beautiful Sihanoukville, Cambodia

It’s very unlikely we will take another cruise for many years if at all! Given the bad news surrounding cruises at the moment. So I’m so happy that we have been on two cruises during our travels.

Crossing the Oresund Bridge

The Oresund Bridge gained fame from the Scandi Noir series, The Bridge. One of my favourite TV shows featuring the quirky Saga Noren. After our trip to Gothenburg we decided to head over to Copenhagen and I was very excited to take the bus which would involve driving over the bridge.

The Oresund Bridge is a combined railway and motor bridge and spans 8 kilometres between Malmo and Copenhagen. It goes through the manmade island of Peberholm, which is home to hundreds of species of animals and plants.

It takes around five hours to travel by bus from Gothenburg to Copenhagen compared to 4 1/2 hours by train. However I think you get to see more from the bus.

Do you prefer bus or train travel when travelling overland?

Square Perspectives and Flower of the Day

My Challenges for today!

Two in one again! Square Perspectives from The Life of B by Becky and FOTD by Cee.

Two photos from my garden around a week apart.

This Aloe Vera grows more profusely every year. It needs hardly any care and sits in an almost overturned tub! It is amazing to see it blossom.

An evergreen perennial, it originates from the Arabian Peninsula, but grows wild in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid climates around the world. It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. Source: Wikipedia

I’m not sure why it grows so well here in Perth, WA in our very dry hot climate.
