I’ve recently spent a week in Portugal and took these cute murals on the electric boxes in Silves yesterday. Very apt for Debbie’s one word Sunday

They really brighten up these cobblestoned streets.

I’m in the UK for a quick visit back to see my mum and other family. Last night we sat on the deck under heaters and blankets and watched fireworks and an almost full moon.

“The Moon is magic for the soul and light for the senses.”

Silent Sunday
How nice it is to see blue sky again. We are luckier than most I know living in Western Australia, but the last two months there has been so much rain and grey skies. It has also been one of the coldest winters on record. I’m not one for venturing out in the rain unless it’s in the car to a shopping mall. This weekend the weather has been glorious and I’m sharing a small gallery today.

Left- Galah; Right – Heron

I couldn’t be sure of this creature when I first spotted it. I was convinced it was a monkey! But it was an extremely large Black Cockatoo.

I was out today for breakfast with a friend overlooking the beautiful City Beach. When I glanced over the verandah I wasn’t sure what to make of the scene below me. Was it a silent sleepy protest, a group sunbathing event, a beach sleepover? All was explained when the restaurant manager said it was “yoga on the beach” and they were having silent meditation.

Slowly they all arose and walked to the front and three at a time climbed into a giant paddling pool and the yoga master spoke to them for a while. They all then jumped out and ran down to the sea. Not sure if this was a baptism, but the thought of being last to get in the paddling pool made me a little queasy!
