This week for Sunday Stills hosted by Terri the challenge is the colour blue. As it happens I took a few blue shots last week at Perth’s Lightscape, an event on at Kings Park. The Park was transformed into an after-dark light spectacular, with all kinds of dazzling light displays.
I met up with four other friends and we started first in a wine bar for some nibbles and wine.
It’s a ticketed event and you need to book a time slot, the walk through takes around an hour.
From the first moment we were all entranced, it’s a spectacular sight to behold. We were lucky that the rain had stopped for our hour, as it was raining before and after that!

As we entered there were many light patterns on the path.

In the trees

Constantly changing colours

On the ground

Finishing up in the Cathedral of Lights
It was a fabulous night out with great friends, always making memories
I thought I would double dip with this challenge, so posting also for Natalie’s Coffee Share and Public Art Challenge.

This looks wonderful!
Thanks Betty 🙂
I love this sort of lights festival – they’ve become popular here in the winter months. It’s fun to be able to enjoy yours at what is to us the ‘wrong’ time of year!
It was a good way to spend a winter’s evening
Utterly gorgeous, Ali! What a beautiful art installation your city puts on. Our city could certainly take some lessons.
Thanks Kellye, my friend in Kelowna, Canada said the same!
The light displays look fantastic, Ali and what a fun way to spend an evening with friends. Thank you for your weekend coffee share and PPAC contribution.
Thanks for your comments Natalie, it was a wonderful night 😁
Oh I like it….did somebody visit Gardens By The Bay and come back with an idea??
Maybe, I never thought of that
This reminds me a little of Liverpool’s River of Light last November.
It’s a great idea isn’t it, to get people off the couch in winter 😊
Kings Park is gorgeous at any time and would be the perfect venue for a display like this. What fun!
Thanks Carol, we all agreed it was a fabulous night
Very magical and such a brilliant idea in winter to add more sparkle.
Yes it was, thanks for visiting Suzanne 😊
That looks so cool. Love the blue one in the feature and the cathedral one.
Thanks, yes the cathedral was amazing
We have a similar light show, but inside as it’s in the winter near Christmas. So it has a very Christmas theme. I like this one better because of the natural trees. Of course, in the pouring rain, it would NOT be fun!
Yes I felt sorry for the people before and after us
With a booked time and the cost I guess you’d find an umbrella!
Beautiful collection of lights! It’s really amazing to see how creative people can be with light 🙂
Thanks Meg, yes we were all saying how creative it was and also the amount of work that went into putting it together 😊
High fives on the double dip, Ali! What a fun event–I forget you are still experiencing winter there if the coats are any indication. That cathedral of lights to walk through looks fun. The lights look spectacular and the blue lights in the trees in the trees are perfect for the color challenge! Now I want to go do something like that–will have to wait for Christmas no doubt 😉
Thanks for your comments Terri, I got lucky with the challenges and didn’t have to go through my archives 🙂
So beautiful light fastival. Good look.
Hi Ali, I love your blue Lightscape photos, what a wonderful event to attend with friends 🙂
Thanks Debbie, it was a lovely evening. I’ve been following your adventures in the UK. You must feel so torn, but I always said when my parents visited here my kids probably saw more of them than if we lived in the same country
so cool. That first photo is really neat and pretty.
Thanks for reading Kirstin 😊
