~ Have a seat for Monochrome Madness ~

Brian @ Bushboy’s World is the host for this week’s Monochrome Madness. His theme is chairs in case you haven’t guessed. I’ve picked a few from my archives but I do have a special chair to share too.

The chair above was my husband’s grandmother’s. It is an antique (Victorian?) nursing chair. It has been reupholstered in yellow silk. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, but doesn’t look at all comfortable to nurse a feeding baby.

It would be quite alarming having this hanging over you while studying.

Have a seat while perusing this post – and enjoy your weekend!

  1. A great selection and use of selective colour Ali. I agree about the nursing chair.
Thanks for joining in my MM#29 prompt 😀

  2. What a brilliant collection, Ali. Your grandma’s chair is very special, as is the ‘dinosaur’ one, but I know which I’d choose!

    1. I don’t think any of them look that comfortable, maybe the chair with the cat but would then be full of hairs!!

  3. Methinks you photographed a sensible cat . . . perchance not in the most interesting chair but one comfortable . . . 🙂 ?

  4. That old chair is a real heirloom, but doesn’t look that comfortable. The cat on the other hand looks very cosy!

    1. Thanks Sarah, it looks nice in our bedroom. I think I may have tried when I was feeding but was too uncomfortable!

  5. That school chair is simply frightening. 🙂 On the other hand, your family’s restored chair is a jewel, even if it may not be comfortable to nurse a child.

  6. Beautiful pictures. I love the pickle one most because it reminds me of a giant green chair at a restaurant called Pickles Place that we use to stop at all the time 🙂

  7. Cats always know which seat is the most comfortable, so I’ll take that one even with hairs perhaps I’ll better not wear black.

  8. You have a great set of chairs Alison, the nursing chair is really interesting and I agree it doesn’t look so comfortable.
