The challenge for Lens Artist this week is “Cats and Dogs” hosted by Tina. I’m not a cat person in any way at all and have never owned one. I’m always slightly wary of cats, you never know when they will strike. Give me a dog anyday.
I know the saying is “A Man’s Best Friend” but my two fur boys are also mine. Zac and Rufus have been with us for 9 and ten years. Both were adopted from rescue organisations. They were both apparently one year old when they first came to live with us. We think though that Zac was older and Rufus was younger. They love each other like true brothers and can’t do anything without the other.
I put together a small collage using Canva instead of uploading many different ones.

Rufus and Zac are so much part of our family, I can’t imagine living life without a dog around.
I’m running out of space for this blog and it’s so time consuming deleting old posts and finding the photos that are attached. Do I upgrade for more space or spend time deleting old posts and photos?

They look loved, Ali. I ended up upgrading. The relative cost, for a ‘hobby’ isn’t really great. Do you resize your photos? I do this all the time now. It takes seconds longer but hopefully is worth it in the end.
Thanks Jo. I only started resizing last year and didn’t realise it was a thing. It does take a while but worth it. I’m reluctant to delete things that have taken me time too. It’s not like it’s thousands anyway!
Not at all! And they’re memories xx
I’m the opposite, we have had cats in the past but I wouldn’t want a dog now. We did have one when I was a teenager and I loved her. (Mum did all the work!) Rufus and Zac look like very good boys indeed though. I’m with Jo, I upgrade WordPress as and when I need to and think it is a cheap hobby compared to what John spends on his bikes! Also, I consider my blog my journal or memoirs so I wouldn’t want to get rid of anything.
Thanks for your comments, yes I was thinking that when I go to do a purge. I just keep reading these info blogs on what you should and shouldn’t do. It seems a waste to delete all the hard work
Two delightful family members
Thanks Sheree ☺️
I love the collage with the cute captions – a great idea! I chose to upgrade when I was running out of space. As Jo says, if you consider it as the price of a hobby you love it doesn’t seem too expensive. And your time, which would otherwise be spent on tidying up etc., has a value too 🙂
Thanks Sarah, everyone seems to be of the same mind, upgrade for ease. My dear hubby spends so much more on his cars!
Well, for what it’s worth, we upgraded when we were at the point you’re now at. I’ve had cats – five in all over the years – but I do like dogs too. Two of my kids have dogs and the other has two cats! Michaela and I do seem to have a habit of having both dogs and cats latch on to us on our travels. I haven’t yet worked out a way of smuggling them home 😂
Yes you must meet plenty on your travels, especially in The Philippines!
Ali, Zac and Rufus look quite like a pair! I love their faces and looks.
Thanks Egidio. They are very popular with everyone who meets them, well all except the postman!
The collage is terrific Alison! I agree wholeheartedly about how special our pups are to us! Re the blog, I did upgrade my space and once I was aware of the space issue my images are now much smaller than they used to be and still present perfectly despite their smaller size. I think we all learn that lesson the hard way!
Thanks for your comments Tina, I’m happy that I did eventually find out 😁
Your captions are so funny, Alison and they are adorable. I can see how much love they bring into your life.
Thanks Sofia, all decisions are based on these two! They rule our lives 😁
I agree with your feeling about cats. I am a dog person all the way. Love those sweet fury faces of your pups 🙂
Thanks Meg ☺️
Great great photos. Need more photo space? Perhaps you could setup a 2nd wordpress website, for rough draft pages or experimenting. Use that media section for more photos, and copy those photo urls to your main site for posting. You won’t be able to do galleries, however, but you can get a lot of photos in a new 3GB media section. Google Photos has some free storage too.
Thanks for the advice John ..I have two google accounts and have reduced all photos on that
Loved your collage and captions! Thank you for the smiles! And yes, I too had to upgrade in the end. For several years I did not resize, but do since 5-6 years now.
Thanks for your comments Leya. Yes I’m going to go with the upgrade
Hello Zac and Rufus, nice to meet you, looks like you found your people.
Thanks Leanne, I think we have two very happy dogs 😁
Rufus and Zac look adorable. I resize all my photos before posting. It makes a huge difference as to how long media storage lasts in WordPress.
I realised that too late!
I like how you did it to look like a photo album. It added a personal touch.
Thanks 😊
