~ Time and Tide wait for No Man…~

It’s time again for some more squares for Becky’s Squaresrenew and as the theme involves moving on or forward I thought I would show some clocks.

People always tend to say time goes more quickly when you’re older, I suppose it must feel like that over a certain age, but when you’re young time takes forever if you are waiting for Christmas or a birthday. Being older you don’t want to rush these things but instead savour the days.

Just a few clocks retrieved from my archives, it’s not always the clock I’m photographing but there is always one there!

If you were not to set an alarm clock, would you sleep past it? If the answer is yes, then there is clearly more sleep that is needed asks Matthew Walker.

For me the answer is yes! My dear hubby says this is not possible because I sleep so well and should not need more sleep, but if I wake up before my alarm would be due to go off then I would fall right back to sleep way past my alarm if it wasn’t set.

Just something to ponder on.

  1. A great variety of clocks! I really like the old Dublin Guinness sign (top left). I read once that the reason time passes more quickly now we’re older is to do with proportions. A month to a five year old is 1/60th of their lifetime, whereas to a fifty year old it’s only 1/600th and therefore seems much shorter and passes faster.

  2. Opposite here, Ali. I reckon you could count on one hand the number of times an alarm has woken me. I always wake before the time it’s set for. Years of setting an alarm at 5:10 for work, I suppose!

  3. Clocks are so photogenic! You’ve got some beautiful ones. I wish I needed an alarm clock. 🙂 I have a dog and cat. 🙂

      1. haha. This one is still new. She sleeps in a crate, so by morning, she is raring to go. She must have already been crate trained because she goes into it whenever I’m in the bedroom blogging. 🙂

  4. I always love clocks and my favourite is the comical Guinness clock.
i believe that when you are busy time goes slow. It just goes fast when you are not doing much. That’s just me, I dunno if there’s a basis for that haha
