This week was the last of the school holidays and I went with Elena and the munchkins to the WA Museum, Boola Bardip. I’ve never been before so was interested to see what was there.
Boola Bardip means many stories in Whadjuk Nyoongar;
the Country on which the Museum sits.
A fantastic museum for all ages and takes visitors on an enchanting journey through the ages. There are many exhibits to see and also interactive displays and games for the kids to enjoy.

We all had the best time, especially as naughty Ninny said yes to a stop in the gift shop!
The rest of my week was spent shopping, a zumba class, dinner with friends and of course Bridge.
I was surprised that Anthony agreed to accompany me to see Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning. What a hectic ride of a film, so many car chases and implausible stunts, I read Tom Cruise does his own! Anyway I enjoyed it especially the scenery, set in Venice and the Austrian Alps. By hook or by crook, I will visit Venice one day. The film went for so long that we missed our restaurant booking but managed to get a table at the next door Indian, Bollywood which was delicious.
Today (Sunday) Anthony suggested a winery in Bickley Valley. About a 45 minute drive from our house and it has been a beautiful sunny day. I chose Plume Winery which has amazing views over the hills and vineyards.

I think my favourite exhibit at that museum would be the same as yours, it looks intriguing! And your Plume Platter looks delicious – what a super place to visit for lunch, well done Anthony!
Thanks Sarah, making the most of the sunny winter weather
Yes, get yourself to Venice, Ali. It’s even more more magical than everybody tells you!
Before it sinks apparently!
Yes!
Looks lovely Alison.
Thanks Marion, we realised we had never been, so was a nice surprise!
What a beautiful day for an outing.
We are very lucky with the weather so far 😎
wow, that colorful exhibit is incredible! Looks like you found all kinds of great spots with some favorite people 🙂
Thanks Meg, yes always fun with my two beautiful grandchildren 😊
What a fun few days you’ve had, Ali! The museum with the kids would’ve been great – just look at those precious smiles. I could definitely plow through that Plume Platter. That looks amazing. My word(s) of the day are Boola Bardip!
Thanks for your comments Kellye. Many places now have Aboriginal names now, because all the land was once theirs so everywhere you go there are notices saying this.
We have the same here – lots of Native American names – and since they were here first, they should have the honor.
Nice to spend time with the kids that includes an educational element as well as fun, Ali. Friends of ours went to the cinema here to watch Mission Impossible, mostly because it’s a nice cool, air conditioned place to be on a hot day, and they absolutely loved it. Said the time flew!
That’s what I thought, couldn’t believe the time!
Ali, The colourful exhibit at WA Museum, the views over the roof top with fluffy white clouds and the vista at the Plume Estate all look amazing. Thank you for your weekend coffee share. Have a wonderful week!
Thanks for your comments Natalie 😀
What a great museum, and I love a gift shop too! A lovely week Ali 🙂
Thanks Debbie 😊
Love your road trip scenery. I don’t remember the vineyards when we were in Perth but perhaps at 23 my focus wasn’t on that. Also don’t think we went to a single museum but that one looks amazing.
Thanks Bernie, museums didn’t do much for me at 23 either 🤣
We were also visiting family who lived there so did play tourist but a bit differently than usual.
It’s good when you have someone to show you around
