Sengen-en Gardens, Kagoshima

We spent our last morning at the beautiful Sengen-en Gardens.  These were gardens and a stately home of the Shimadzu family the head of which was a powerful feudal lord for 850 years.  These gardens are still used for filming many Japanese films and tv series.  Unfortunately we could not visit the house as this was being prepared for use in an upcoming film.  However the gardens and surrounding areas were fantastic to see.  All of it has been beautifully preserved.
