San Sebastian – September 2017

Sunset in San Sebastian
Sunset in San Sebastian

Headed off to San Sebastian by Flix  bus from Biarritz. I bought amazingly cheap tickets online for approximately Five euros each. When the bus was over 45 minutes late Anthony said it must be a scam! We had been waiting at the wrong bus stop for half an hour anyway but found the right one up the road – a very nondescript bus stop. The bus actually drove past and in my panic I actually ran down the road after it waving my arms like a lunatic – amazing as the last time I remember running was in year 6 of primary school when I came last out of ten runners – the bus was only turning round! Anthony just stood there wondering what the hell he had just witnessed.
Anyway I digress – so the bus was surprisingly comfortable and we arrived in San Sebastian around 6 pm. Took around 2 hours.

We stayed here for two nights at Husa Europa Hotel – a very old hotel near the old quarter just a ten minute walk.

In the old quarter all the restaurants and bars serve plates and plates of tapas which are all on display as you walk in.  Its difficult to know where to go as there are so many choices – so we went to a few.  Wine is so cheap!  So had a very gastronomical and winey night.

Below are a few photos of the old quarter.
